My eight-year-old son travels from North Carolina multiple times throughout the year to visit me. During his visits, we usually work on photography centered around his interests.
His focus upon arrival in the past has shifted from particular video games to block building to arts & crafts, but August 2023 found his attention grounded heavily on one topic - SOCCER.
While I know nothing about the sport myself, I was happy to lean on a friend’s advice for soccer-centered activities around town we could check out. Once they told me about the local miniature pitches in public parks around Austin, I immediately made plans to take my son. Usually, photography sessions aren’t his favorite thing to do. He enjoyed the space so much during our first visit, however, he enthusiastically accepted my offer to return a week later for a themed shoot.
